Port Dickson
M. Marimuthu, aged 32, and R. Mohanasundram, aged 26, claimed that a police officer from Port Dickson demanded RM450 from them, failing which he would find ways to arrest them again. They were out on bail and are waiting sentencing for charges of theft.
Mohanasundram was called in to the district headquarters on Thursday where he was punched in the face when he told the officer that he did not bring the money.
Marimuthu's sister Vikneswary, aged 32, had to pawn her jewellery before giving it to the officer at the magistrate court on Friday at 4pm. Marimuthu said the officer demanded a few hundred more ringgit, allegedly to cover the rental cost of the car that the two men were using on the day that they were arrested.
The three then sat on a bench when the officer returned and kicked Marimuthu's leg.
The men, both jobless, lodged reports at the Seremban police station on Friday, accusing the police officer of assault.
