A 64-year-old stepfather has been arrested after police reports were made against him, suspecting him of raping his stepdaughters, aged 17 and 12. He allegedly was curing the girls of their ailments as he was a bomoh.

The elder girl was found to be three months' pregnant after she went for a medical examination at the Alor Star hospital last November. She made a police report on November 21 2006, admitting that she was raped by the suspect for three months.

The younger sister also claimed that she suffered the same while the suspect had gone missing after the first police report. The second report was made on November 26.

The suspect was finally arrested last Saturday in Pekan Simpang Kuala and has been remanded by the police for seven days to aid investigations.
