A 25-year-old Hafandy Hamid had asked from his 66-year-old grandmother for a RM2,000 gold chain and when she refused to give him, he allegedly stabbed her in the back with a knife. He ran away with the gold chain The incident occurred at the woman's house at 2pm Monday at Bukit Payong.
A neightbour had sent the woman to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
Police has classified the case as causing hurt during a robbery.
