Zahaminto Anjang, aged 24, has been acquitted of a charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the Sessions Court yesterday. On 2 March 2002, Zahaminto had used a piece of wood to hit his father, Anjang Ngah Sait, aged 40, on the head. The father died the next day and Zahaminto surrendered himself to the police.
The judge ruled that Zahaminto did not have the intention to cause death and the murder weapon was never found.
