Theft Syndicate Hires Students

Police are aware of a theft syndicate which uses seconday school students to commit their crimes. The students are trained to break into houses and are paid RM50 for each successful hit. They are suspected to be responsible for stealing valuables such as motorcycles and jewellery.

A 13-year-old student was caught shoplifting in a shopping complex at Kota Baru on Sunday. He later revealed that he, together with two other teenagers, broke into a house in Kampung Pantai Senok on the same day. He said he receives orders from a mechanic in Tawang.
