Jonathan Vincent Chan, aged 43, was arrested his Bangsar home yesterday by Anti-Corruption Agency officers and charged with cheating MiTV Corporation Sdn Bhd financial controller Low Nam Chuan and its vice-president of broadcasting, Rozali Ridzwan, into believing that tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan, chairman of the board of directors of MiTV Corporation, had instructed them to appoint contractor Moflex (M) Sdn Bhd.

Chan was previously the company's chief operating officer and director. He allegedly committed the crime at the MiTV office in Menara Berjaya, KL Plaza, Jalan Bukit Bintang in May 2004.

The contract was for refurbishment, furniture and a corporate office at KL Plaza and was priced at RM1.6 million.

The magistrate fixed bail at RM10,000 in one surety pending hearing on 1 and 2 Oct 2007. Chan, who is believed to be working in Singapore, posted bail.
