A foreigner has been arrested for power theft after investigations by the East Coast/Sandakan Sabah Electricity Board (SESB) revealed that the man had been illegally tapping the eletricity line and distributed power to a colony of 20 squatter houses for a fee.
There were two of them who managed to cut the insulation layer of the 415V cable and hook a live wire connected to a distribution point in one of the houses. The other escaped when a raid was conducted at the main SESB office in Batu Sapi on Friday night.
