Wong Chin Hee, allegedly the head of the M16 Gang that was involved in a few goldsmith shop robberies since 2000, was rearrested after he was freed by a High Court after his habeas corpus application was successful.

Wong, aged 43, has been detained at the Simpang Renggam detention centre since February 2004 and faces eight charges of armed robbery. He is believed to have taken over leadership after Sum Wing Chai @ Sunny Chai was shot dead by police in 2002.

Lim Siong, aged 55, was also freed and rearrested with Wong. He has been detained for a kidnapping case in Banting last year.
