Johor Baru

Three men who have been responsible for at least 10 robbery cases here, had stopped two youths on a motorcycle near Danga Bay at 3am yesterday. One of them was wearing a police raincoat. The youths were punched in the face and their mobile phones snatched.

One of the men took the motorcycle while the other two drove off in a Proton Perdana. Three hours later, the motorcycle crashed into the Proton Perdana near the Johor Islamic Complex. Police in a patrol car spotted them and arrested one of them, a 29-year-old man from Taman Ungju Tun Aminah.

Police have identified the other two who escaped on foot. The car was reported stolen on 22 February 2007 in Gelang Patah and police found a knife, a baton and a police raincoat inside.
