Klang
Five robbers attempted to rob 3 7-Eleven stores but in their third hit, one of them was shot dead by police who were at the scene.
The gang arrived on three motorcycles at the Jalan Meru store at 3am. One of them went in with a parang and approached the cashier while another stood at the entrance.
Three policemen who happened to be at a petrol station across the road approached the robbers. The three robbers on the motorcycles fled the scene and left the two on foot. Two policemen apprehended the suspect outside while the third policeman entered the store.
The suspect in the store did not surrender and the policeman fired a shot, hitting the suspect on his left temple. The suspect died on the way to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital hospital.
It is believed that the gang had earlier robbed 7-Eleven stores in Batu Belah and Jalan Kapar.
