Slim River
A 51-year-old police chief inspector who was the head of the narcotics district division in Tanjung Malim and an unidentified woman were found dead in a car at the Behrang rest stop along the North-South Expressway yesterday at 2:30pm.
The bodies of Mohd Fauzi Ibrahim and the 24-year-old woman, believed to be a guest relations officer, were found in a BMW with the air-conditioning still running. There were black marks on the woman's nose and red marks on the face, hands and feet of both.
The bodies were sent to the Slim River Hospital for post-mortem and it has been confirmed that the cause of death was from inhaling carbon monoxide.
Fauzi had borrowed the car from a friend and he was on duty the night before.
Police did not find any injuries on their bodies and the case has been classified as sudden death.
