Police are following up on an anonymous phone tip-off about a woman and a girl resembling missing 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar spotted at a petrol station along the Cheras Expressway on Saturday morning. The caller described that they were in a white van but the police were unable to get to it in time.
The vehicle registration number of the van which the caller gave turned out to be fake.
In terms of the search progress so far, police have combed through 10,000 occupied and unoccupied premises. They are checking at a rate of 1,000 premises a day and are concentrating in the PJ Selatan area near the Kuala Lumpur border.
LCD screens in RapidKL buses are starting to show images of Sharlinie as an initiative coordinated by Asia Media, the company behind the displays. The displays are part of a programmed known as Trans-Net, which provides information to bus commuters.
It is expected that the images will be displayed to 12 million commuters over 500 RapidKL buses.
