A 54-year-old chef was sentenced to 5 years' jail for molesting a 14-year-old niece on 12 July 2004 at 4pm in Tanjung Rambutan.
The girl had been staying at his house to help take care of his son who has Down Syndrome. That day, she had just taken a bath when the man entered the room and hugged and kissed her. He then molested her on the bed and warned her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The judge had lifted the whipping sentence because of the man's age and ordered that his jail sentence be served from the date of arrest on 30 December 2004.
