80-year-old Strangled to Death by Robbers

An 80-year-old man was murdered by three masked robbers in his home in Taman Zalinah on Thursday at 5am.

Family members found Tan Yam Keng's arms and legs were tied in the toilet. They were sleeping on the second floor of the house during the robbery. When they found the victim, they saw the three suspects armed with knives escaping via the back door.

It is believed that as the robbers found nothing valuable to steal, they decided to strangle the victim with a rope.

The victim's body has been sent to the Pontian Hospital for a post-mortem. Police have classified the case was under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
