The Indonesian woman who allegedly sent false short messages to and extorted money from the father of missing 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar has been charged in court yesterday.
27-year-old Sudarwanti pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal intimidation by sending the threatening and false short messages between 10 January 2008 at 4:07pm and the next day at 9:25am.
Under Sections 506 and 507 of the Penal Code, she faces a maximum jail term of 9 years or a fine or both.
Sentencing has been set on 1 February 2008 and no bail was set.
