Butterworth
Five robbers got away with 10 gold bars worth RM900,000 along Jalan Bunga yesterday at 10:20am.
The goldsmith's son and a worker of the goldsmith's factory were returning from the Bayan Lepas International Airport with the gold bars. The robbers were following the two in a Proton Waja. Just when they entered the factory, four suspects, wearing baseball caps, got out of their car and approached the victims' 4WD vehicle.
Two of the robbers pointed their pistols at the victims while another used an axe to break the vehicle's backseat window. He then grabbed the gold bars and they took off in their car.
The entire operation took just three minutes.
