Missing 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar's father, Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain, denied that the doll found on Saturday had belonged to her. It is believed that the doll, which was allegedly left by a man who passed by in a car, had scratches and stab marks at the abdomen.
In Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma) members distributed 5,000 posters of Sharlinie in the Jalan Masjid India area. Kimma will distribute the more in Penang, Perak, Negri Sembilan and Malacca today.
Motorcycle teams from Putera Umno, Umno Youth and Putera MIC were also helping to distribute 10,000 posters of Sharlinie around the Klang Valley yesterday. The combined forces of 230,000 members will help to let the public know about the girl who went missing from a playground in Taman Medan last Wednesday.
Police are suspecting that the kidnapper may be hiding in abandoned buildings to avoid detection and has asked the public to be mindful of such premises in their areas.
