As the nationwide search for Sharlinie Mohd Nashar continues, it is learnt that the 30-year-old mentally unstable man who posed as a police officer at Sharlinie's home on Thursday night had worked as a dispatch rider.
The motorcycle used by the man's accomplice as he escaped is registered to the dispatch rider.
The remand order on the 16-year-old schoolboy who was arrested for trying to extort RM5,000 from Sharlinie's parents has been extended to 21 January 2008.
The Johor Baru Umno Youth also joined in the search by putting up 5,000 posters of Sharlinie at the Causeway, Johor Baru, on Thursday.
