Sibu
A 15-year-old girl in Sibu was saved by the police from two young men who attempted to rape her. Police chased the men from Jalan Chew Siik Kiong to Sungai Engkalat where the suspects' stolen vehicle fell into the Igan River.
Police were investigating a case of a stolen vehicle reported in Bintulu. When they found it, the suspects and the girl were inside. The driver sped off when approached.
The girl told the police that she met one of them two days ago and was invited to dinner on Tuesday. She claims that her drinks might have been spiked as she felt drowsy after dinner.
