Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Azmin Ali was robbed in his home at Ampang in the afternoon by two men armed with a parang and iron rod.
He was parking his car when the men approached his car and smashed a car window with the parang. Two other men waited in a car outside while the first two took Azmin's mobile phone and RM2,000 cash. He was threatened with the parang against his abdomen.
Ampang Jaya police found the getaway car near the Ampang Point shopping centre. A 24-year-old man in the car was detained, and another 27-year-old was caught at a construction site nearby.
