A businessman who volunteered to work in a relief centre as a Rela member has been suspected of molesting an 18-year-old student while escorting her to Hospital Sultan Ismail. The woman is a flood victim from Kampung Oren in Ulu Tiram.
On January 13 2007 morning, she had complained of breathing difficulty and was driven by car to the hospital. En route, the suspect kissed the woman on her cheek and groped her. He allegedly drove the car to a secluded place and offered to have sex with her. When she refused, he warned her not to tell anyone.
The woman lodged a police report and the suspect was arrested by the police the next day.
