Teluk Intan
Arrested during "Ops Tegas" last December, Indonesians Sahwi, aged 31, Yusman, aged 23, Hanafi Aman, aged 27, Iksan Abubakar, aged 32, Mohd Tohir Ratnam, aged 46, Samino Kadir, aged 31, and Girianto, aged 25, have been sentenced to jail terms between 10 to 14 months each and six strokes of the cain.
Perak Immigration Department prosecuting officer Khairul Anwar submitted to impose the maximum number of strokes under the Immigration Act for illegal entry as a way to effectively deter others from committing the same crime.
