The Anti-Corruption Agency separately arrested a Tenaga Nasional Berhad technician and a Health Department official for allegedly demanding bribes.
The 30-year-old technician had demanded RM2,000 from a contractor who was awarded grass-cutting contracts at TNB substations to allow claims for the contractor to be processed faster. He was arrested in Kota Tinggi.
The 46-year-old Health Department official who works in the Senai office had demanded RM200 from a tyre factory owner in Kulai. He allegedly found mosquito larvae during a spot check at the factory premises. When the official returned a few days later for more money, he was arrested.
