Kuala Lumpur
A 25-year-old Indonesian was arrested on Thursday at the Selayang wet market with possession of 4.8kg of ganja or marijuana worth about RM12,000. Sentul narcotics police believe that some of the Indonesian and Myanmar workers there have been using the place to distribute such drugs.
The suspect from Aceh had been working as a fishmonger's assistant for the past two years. He was found with five blocks of dry leaves believed to ganja wrapped in a polystyrene box. He had intended to sell it to another party at the market but the buyer was not caught.
Police believe that the ganja was brought from Thailand.
