35-year-old R. Balan was found dead with stab wounds at his home in Tringkap, Cameron Highlands, on Wednesday morning. At about 2:30am, four men broke into the lorry driver's flat and tied up his wife.
Three of the suspects then stabbed Balan 27 times with a sharp weapon. His wife and and 6-year-old daughter were spared.
Police have not made any arrests and are determining the motive of the murder.
