Kuala Lumpur
Four members of the infamous armed Palembang robbery gang have been arrested yesterday. They were nabbed a few minutes after they had robbed a manager in front of a bank in Taman Teratai Mewah in Setapak at 1:50pm.
The 34-year-old manager had just withdrawn RM20,000 from the bank. Three suspects approached the manager, snatched RM10,000 of his money, and left in a Toyota Vios vehicle.
A patrol car spotted the vehicle and gave chase. The suspects' car crashed at a junction in Taman Melati and three of them were caught by the police. The fourth robber escaped but was arrested at a hotel at 4:30pm. Police found three parangs, fake vehicle registration plates and a packet of syabu in the car, which was checked to be stolen.
