Nurin's Murder Case: SIM Card Retrieved from Woman Suspect

The SIM card that the Indonesian woman suspect swallowed when she was arrested has been flushed out yesterday.

The 23-year-old illegal Indonesian immigrant was arrested at a market in Nilai on 29 September 2007 in connection with the kidnap and murder of 8-year-old Nurin Jazlin Jazimin. After her 7-day remand order, she was warded at the University Malaya Medical Centre awaiting for the SIM card.

After police have confirmed that the SIM card was retrieved, she was from the hospital at 12:30pm yesterday. A six-day extension on the remand order against her has been approved and she is being remanded at the district police headquarters.

Police will now have to attempt to retrieve valuable data from the SIM card.
