Federal CID police have released the photofits of a man and a woman believed to be involved in the kidnap and murder of 8-year-old Nurin Jazlin Jaziman.
The man is described to have fair complexion, 168cm tall, and aged between 35 and 40 years. He is believed to have looked for a room to rent in the Bangsar area for himself and his daughter.
The woman is in her 20s, 153cm tall, with shoulder-length hair and had worn a red dress when she was seen near a dark-blue Diadora sports bag near a staircase in a shoplot in Petaling Utama on 17 September 2007. She was seen at the crime scene a day before Nurin's naked body was discovered in the bag.
Both are said to be locals.
Police are asking the public to come forward if they recognize the photofits and have information that can lead to them.
Although the remand order on the four men detained in Shah Alam was ending on 4 October, they were released on Monday at 4pm based on other evidence, police have said.
The 23-year-old Indonesian woman arrested on Saturday in Nilai is still being held at the University Malaya Medical Centre. Doctors are attempting to retrieve the SIM card that she had swallowed.
