Police have linked the Mamak Gang with RM2 million worth of robberies such as carjacking and warehouse break-ins.
The gang was responsible for the following crimes:
A well-dressed man entered the Auto City showroom in Seberang Jaya on 16 July 2007 at 1:30pm and rode off with a RM963,000 Porsche 911 Targa 4, crashing through the glass panel of the showroom. The car ran out of fuel and was found at Hujung Persusahaan Dua in Prai. The gang stole the car from the Bukit Mertajam police compound the same day at 10:45pm, but recovered at Mengkuang Titi an hour later.
The gang carjacked a BMW 735i, a Nissan Murano, a Toyota Camry and an Audi A4. Only the BMW was recovered.
Two man armed with a hammer robbed a 33-year-old shop owner of RM170,000 on 28 August 2007 along Jalan Kennedy.
The gang, formed by six brothers from Kuala Kangsar, Perak, was most noted for the armed robbery of RM10 million of gold bars at the Subang Airport in 1994.
