Johor Baru
A 19-year-old foreign worker was wrongly accused of stealing a mobile phone and was beaten to death by a group of men. He was having lunch at a stall in Batu 27, Kampung Rahmat, Kulai, at 11:30am on Friday when the stall owner accused him of stealing his wife's mobile phone.
Before the victim could explain himself, the stall owner and a few men started assaulting him. Meanwhile, the stall owner's wife told her husband that she had found her phone.
The group of men then rushed the victim to the Kulai Hospital. He died at 2pm.
Police have arrested three men, including the stall owner, aged between 21 and 35 years. They expect to make more arrests and have classified the case as murder.
