Kuala Lumpur
Four policemen from the Sentul police headquarters have been linked to a RM5,000 snatch theft case in Jalan Ipoh last week. They were alleged to have assisted in snatching a bag containing cash belonging to a businessman who was walking behind a hotel in Jalan Ipoh last week at 6pm.
A man in his 40s was arrested on Tuesday, believed to be the mastermind. The four corporals and constables were released on bail Tuesday, a week after they were remanded.
Two men on a motorcycle rode past the businessman and witnesses led police to the arrest of a corporal the next day. The suspected officer led to the arrest of the other three policemen, who have been with the force for more than three years. One of them had a disciplinary problem and was under suspension when he was arrested.
