Kuala Lumpur
Police have smashed a vice syndicate operating along Jalan Pudu at a restaurant and in hotels nearby with the arrests of 49 prostitutes and 2 pimps on Friday night.
The foreign women were known to use the "kuaci seduction" method to hide their sexual services and lure male patrons at the restaurant. They worked as waitresses and would try to sell patrons packets of melon seeds, known as kuaci, before striking a conversation and leaving their mobile phone numbers.
During the raid, 19 officers from the Bukit Aman anti-vice, gaming and secret society division posed as restaurant customers. Later, the pimps and 8 customers were detained.
Police also seized several packets of condoms and tubes of lubricants at following raids of two hotels nearby, namely Hotel Aseana and New Oriental Hotel.
