Following a tip-off from the public, Perak police raided a flat in Seri Margosa, Bandar Seri Botani, on Saturday and seized 8.55kg of heroin and 260g of ganja. This is the biggest drug seizure in the state for 15 years with the drugs worth about RM2.8 million.
When police arrived at the flat, a 34-year-old man was carrying two boxes. The boxes contained 19 plastic packets of heroin and a slab of packed dried ganja leaves, hidden within microwave ovens.
The unemployed man has been remanded until 23 February 2008. A Proton Perdana vehicle and two microwave ovens have also been seized.
