Shah Alam
Before proceedings began for 90th day of the murder trial of Altantuya Shaariibuu, accused political analyst Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda had an unusual and surprising outburst after his father Datuk Abdullah Malim Baginda whispered to him while he was in the dock at 9:30am.
Razak's face changed as he walked back to the holding cell, then he turned and shouted at his father, "Shall I shout it out?". His father indicated to him no, and then Razak kept shouting "I'm innocent! I'm innocent!" as he was led into the cell.
Celcom main network operations general manager Nik Kamarudin Nik Ka continued his testimony for the day. The 43-year-old said that although co-accused Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri's mobile call transactions overlapped one another and were unordered, they are the same. The calls were made on 21 October 2006 between 12:28am and 1:34am, but Azilah did not answer the calls. The transactions did show that Azilah was at the murder scene and had contacted the other two accused just before the murder.
After the proceedings were adjourned for lunch, Razak kicked the dock gate, stormed out, and went into tears after his father whispered to him again. Razak was heard saying, "Oh no, oh no".
Razak's mother, Datin Rohana Abdullah, then walked to the lock-up to calm Razak. Razak's counsel Wong Kian Kheong, who had left the court room earlier, returned to Razak at the lock-up but refused to explain Razak's unexpected behaviour.
The hearing continues on Monday.
