Ipoh
An auxiliary police constable was caught smoking ganja when he was watering his marijuana plant at his security post at the Sultan Abu Bakar Dam in Cameron Highlands on Sunday at 5pm. The 28-year-old security guard with 8 years on the job had been growing the 90cm-tall plant for the past 2 months.
A tip-off from the public allowed police to spring an ambush on him at the security post.
The man is being investigated under Section 6D of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. If successfully convicted, he faces life imprisonment and 6 strokes of the cane.
