Kajang
The robbery gang known as Zai and was involved in break-ins at houses in Kajang, Subang Jaya, Klang and Cheras, has been busted by the police.
The gang of eight youths aged between 18 and 21 years, including a 17-year-old girl, would congregate at a park, drink, smoke ganja and consume syabu before going to rob and assault people. Police believed that the gang is responsible for 59 wayside, armed robberies and snatch theft cases since July 2007.
The 22-year-old leader of the gang, known as Izai, was arrested in Taman Kota Cheras early this month. His 17-year-old girlfriend was arrested several days after the PMR examinations. These two suspects led to the arrest of six more youths in Kajang.
Seven parangs, four masks, two metal cutters, a chopper, several stolen mobile phones and some fake motorcycle number plates were seized from the suspects.
