During a sea operation in the Pengerang waters yesterday at 5:30am, marine police seized a speed boat with two Indonesian crew and cartons of cigarettes worth about RM100,000. The suspects escaped to a swamp nearby at Pasir Gosok, Pengerang.
Police found 24 boxes containing 1,200 cartons of cigarettes each. Including this seizure, police have successfully stopped the smuggling of cigarettes from Indonesia six times this year.
