39-year-old businessman S. Inpakkumaran, 27-year-old fish breeder N. Sathia Silang, and 25-year-old clerk K. Raman were charged for wrongfully confining a restaurant manager earlier this month at Lorong Chan Ah Tong on 2 December 2007 at 4:40am.
38-year-old Indian K. Sivasubramaniam was held for ransom of RM100,000.
Under Section 3(1) of the Kidnapping Act 1961, the three face the death sentence, life imprisonment or whipping. No bail was offered for the trio and the magistrate has set the date for mention on 27 February 2008.
