Putrajaya
15 officers from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry raided a shop at Taman Perindustrian Mas, Sepang yesterday at 2pm and found a DVD replication machine which was copying 20,000 illegal discs per day.
Estimated to be worth RM6 million, the machine is believed to have been smuggled into the country in parts from Japan, China and Germany and assembled here.
Officers also seized 3,000 DVDs, with movie titles such as Ratatouille and Transformers. It is believed the syndicate has been operating there for a year and that they may have sold about RM60 million worth of discs. No arrests have been made.
