Balik Pulau
28-year-old Teh Hooi Wen's counsel Khoo Chye Beng said that the charge against her is flawed. The mother of murder victim and 3-year-old Shearwey Ooi Ying Ying had made a false report at the Bayan Lepas police station on 6 July 2007 at 10:30am. Under Section 182 of the Penal Code, she faces a maximum jail term of six months or a RM2,000 fine, or both, if convicted.
However, Teh was implicated in the charge that she and her boyfriend Ong Chee Leong, aged 29, had murdered Shearwey on 5 July 2007. Khoo will submit an application with the court against this charge.
The magistrate fixed 23 November 2007 for mention of the case. It will also be on the same day when the court will hear another charge against the two who allegedly consumed methamphe-tamine at the same police station on 9 July 2007 at 1:30am.
