Syed Herie Azimi Syed Kassim, aged 24, and his wife Aniza Ayob, aged 23, were found murdered in their Taman Desa Anggerik rented home in Senawang yesterday. The unemployed man and seven-month pregnant wife had six stab wounds on his chest and a stab wound on her neck and body bruises.

The wife was working at the National Registration Department and they had married just a year ago.

One of Syed Herie's friends, Mohd Shafiq Ahmad Zaki, was chatting at his Lavender Heights home on Saturday until 4am. Syed Herie had told him that he would be sending his wife to Kuala Pilah for the weekend where his in-laws were. Apparently, Syed Herie was heard having an argument over the phone before he left Mohd Shafiq's home.

Mohd Shafiq tried to call him at 9am on Saturday but the line was cut. When he decided to visit him on Sunday afternoon, he and Syed Herie's neighbour, Mohd Fazli Kamarul, found the bodies there.

The deceased man's black Proton Satria was missing.

Police believe the couple had been dead for three days and has ruled out robbery as the wife's gold accessories were intact and that there was no indication of forced entry. The case has been classified as murder.
