Robbers Disguised as Taxi Drivers at Airport

5 June 2007
Petaling Jaya

A 20-year-old man from Sri Lanka was taken for a ride last Tuesday when he was waiting for his aunt at the KLIA. A man who claimed to be a taxi driver approached him and told him that he was sent by the aunt to pick him up.

The man pretended to call the victim's aunt on his mobile phone and coaxed him to get into his vehicle. He asked him to give him his passport and cash in case of a roadblock on the way. A while later, three men boarded the vehicle while it was headed towards KL Sentral.

Once there, the men left the victim there and drove off with his passport and cash.
