Shah Alam
Counsel Wong Kian Kheong, who was representing accused Abdul Razak Baginda, had asked Burmaa Oyun-chimeg to read aloud a SMS that she had sent to private investigator P. Balasubramaniam from Hong Kong last year. She read "You sick f*****s. Listen to me carefully. I’m gonna call his wife. Already, reported to Mongolian Consul General in Malaysia, You chicken s***s are in big problem. I’ll do my best. Promise."
Balasubramaniam reportedly received this SMS from Burmaa at 4:26pm on 21 October 2006 and forwarded it to Abdul Razak. Burmaa had sent the threatening SMS two days after Altantuya was missing.
Burmaa said that Abdul Razak had called her early 2006 as he could not reach Altantuya, who was in Mongolia at that time. Abdul Razak had told Burmaa that he had transferred money to Altantuya's account and given her the transaction reference number. Burmaa told the court that she could not remember the transaction amount and did not know how often Abdul Razak gave her cousin money.
The prosecution then submitted two pieces of A4 paper on which Altantuya wrote her last letter before she went missing in October last year. It was written on the Hotel Malaya letterhead and found by Burmaa in Altantuya's white Guess bag. She found it there on 20 November 2006 when she was packing her cousin's belongings before returning to Hong Kong.
The letter was read in court as follows:
"Dear, all Malaysia goverment or police, or embassy of Mongolia, or Newspapers."
"My name is Shaariibuu Altantuya, I came to Malaysia to see my boyfriend Mr. Razak Abdullah Baginda. He married and live with his daughter Rowena and wife and parents in Damansara heights, Jalan Setia Jaya 22."
"His office in Jalan ampak, yes I have been visiting his house and office, because I needed to see him, yes I asked from him money, but I have reason. I’m nice person, I can’t hurt someone. But Mr A. Razak Baginda is powerfull person, he have money, he have connection in police, in government."
"He trying to scare me, trying to kill me. He send his two indian men to follow me, one of them Suraj Kumar, he been coming to my hotel room every morning around 5.00 a.m and knocking door, trying to scare me. Another one of bodyguard said to me if i could i already (illegible) you."
"They have been following me for 4-5 days. Even my hotel, where I staying workers know. That time I really scared, I have some problem now time, Mr. Razak Baginda promised to help me when I was Mongolia,"
"That’s the why I came to see him and for help. But he trying to kill me. And that indians told me they have connection with police so they will put me to jail. Yes, maybe I did mistake to bother him to blackmail him, but if he didn’t promise to me I would never come from far away to Malaysia."
"Only reason I’m here is I asking help from Mr Razak. I get p.I, privite invistogetor Mr Hoh. But today he told me, that indians could kill and put down from window. And before I writed letter I’ll suicide myself, because I have no choice, he told that they have my letter’s so they kill me and says she suicide."
The prosecution also tendered six notes, supposedly handwritten in English by Altantuya, which appeared to be threats and blackmail against Abdul Razak. Some of the notes read as follows:
"Razak, Don't play OK. I saw today morning, and yesterday too. I will stay at your office outside or you call now or outside or I'll come to your home today. Amina."
"If you prefer money than life, It's OK. Hope you'll prefer more than money your Rowena life. Better hurry, Razak."
"I account, I check and goes, And you happy OK. And don’t try to cheat me, Your friends, your layer can’t help you. Today is Monday. If now you send, everything will be OK. And by the way, how feel. Hot, having temperature? Not yet?"

Six Year Old Lured by Ice Cream, Molested
29 June 2007
Kuala Lumpur
A 6-year-old girl was approached by a man wearing a yellow t-shirt and black helmet at her kindergarten. He had asked her to help him catch a cat and offered ice-cream to her.
The man then took her on his motorcycle to a house where she was possibly molested. Six hours later, the girl was found by her parents near her kindergarten, half-naked with bloodstains on her clothes. Still reeling from shock, she was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Her father said that she is still traumatized after being discharged from hospital, does not talk to anyone, and complains of pain in her private parts and stomach.
A police report was made and police believe that the girl was not raped.

Altantuya Trial Hears Ang and Burmaa Oyunchimeg
28 June 2007
Shah Alam
Counsel Karpal Singh, who is holding a watching brief for Altantuya Shaariibuu's family, expressed surprise yesterday when Uuriintuya Gal-Orchir said that there was no record of the three Mongolian women's immigration entries. He said that the matter needs to be investigated as it could be an attempt to hide statements that suggest that Altantuya had never entered Malaysia and thus could not have been murdered here.
Altantuya's father, Shaariibuu Setev lodged a police report at the Shah Alam High Court yesterday on this matter. He said that the Beijing Immigration Department's registry did not have Altantuya's entry in October last year.
Ang Chong Beng testified in court today that Altantuya had told him that she and Abdul Razak Baginda married in Hong Kong in 2004, but he did not ask for nor did he see their marriage documents. He also did not realize that Abdul Razak was married until 13 October 2006.
When asked by Deputy Public Prosector Manoj Kurup, Ang said he did not felt that Altantuya was extorting money from Abdul Razak but was asking for compensation between husband and wife.
Ang also shouted "Abdul Razak, let Altantuya go!" a few times in front of Abdul Razak's house a day after Altantuya was reported missing on 20 October 2006. He had accompanied Namiraa Gerelmaa, Uuriintuya Gal-Orchir and Inspector Faizol Azuhan Che Omar there to "save Altantuya".
Faizol approached Abdul Razak's private investigator, P. Balasubramaniam, and then he told Ang to return home and let the police handle the situation.
On 19 October 2006, Altantuya had told Ang that she was going to Abdul Razak's residence and Namiraa called him when she did not return to her hotel. Ang himself was not able to bring Altantuya there as he was outstation at that time. Altantuya also told him that Balasubramaniam said that Abdul Razak wanted to see her.
Ang later brought Namiraa to the police station to lodge a police report after Altantuya's cousin, Burmaa Oyunchimeg, who was in Hong Kong, told him of their intention.
As he was cross-examined by Abdul Razak's counsel, Wong Kian Kheong, Ang said Altantuya had threatened to make public of her relationship with Abdul Razak if Abdul Razak did not pay her US$500,000. Since Altantuya had told Ang that she was looking for her "husband" Abdul Razak and Ang did not know then that Abdul Razak was married otherwise, he did not think that she was blackmailing Abdul Razak.
When Ang was questioned by Counsel Ahmad Zaidi Zainal, who is appearing for Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, about the unusually large amount that Altantuya demanded, Ang replied that he believed that she needed the money for the medical expenses of her son.
Later, the sixth prosecution witness, 26-year-old Burmaa Oyunchimeg, was brought to testify at the murder trial. She was a cousin of Altantuya and works as a beauty salon operator in Hong Kong.
She told the court that she met Abdul Razak three times in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore between 2004 and 2005 and seemed to be very close with Altantuya. Burmaa also said that she had been in contact with Abdul Razak when he was in England and Malaysia if he could not contact Altantuya when she was in Mongolia.
Burmaa said that Abdul Razak had once told her to pass the message to Altantuya that he had deposited money into her account and that he did not want to see Altantuya anymore.
Judge Mohd Zaki Mohd Yasin said that he had about 20 more cases to be heard with some being prisoners for more than four years. The trial may have to be rescheduled as it was postponed from the beginning of the month to 18 June. A decision will be made today on the next trial date.

Uuriintuya and Ang Testify in Altantuya Trial
27 June 2007
Shah Alam
Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir was questioned by counsel Karpal Singh, who is holding a watching brief for the Shaariibuu family and the Mongolian government, on how certain she was that the watch, earrings and ring worn by Altantuya Shaariibuu belonged to her.
She did not leave the country with Namiraa Gerelmaa, Altantuya's cousin, on 26 October 2006. She said her passport was in Altantuya's bag on the day that she went missing, thus she had to leave for Mongolia later on 24 November 2006.
Uuriintuya explained that although she did not verbally understood the death threats given by Suras Kumar when he banged on their hotel room door between 3am and 5am, it was Altantuya who let him into the room. He had put down his helmet and slept on a bed after he entered their room. Altantuya thought that she could actually meet Abdul Razak if they let him in. Uuriintuya quoted Altantuya as saying that she believed Suras was Abdul Razak's bodyguard.
Uuriintuya was also asked to identify a white diamond gold ring that Altantuya was seen wearing before she went missing on 19 October 2006. She told the court that Altantuya said her boyfriend, whom Uuriintuya believed him to be Abdul Razak, bought it for her.
The fifth prosecution witness that stood up in court today was private investigator Ang Chong Beng, aged 56. He was hired by Altantuya last September to track Abdul Razak. Altantuya said she was poor and was only able to deposit US$600 into his bank account on 1 October 2006.
Ang said he met Altantuya for the first time at Hotel Malaya in September as she wanted him "to find out whether her husband, Abdul Razak Baginda, was in Malaysia or overseas."
On 12 October 2006, Ang managed to determine Abdul Razak's house location and took Altantuya and her two Mongolian companions, Namiraa and Uuriintuya, to his Bukit Damansara place on 17 October 2006.
Ang said he saw Altantuya talking to Abdul Razak's private investigator P. Balasubramaniam outside Abdul Razak's house, after which two police patrol cars arrived. She entered one of the cars and was brought to the Brickfields police station. Balasubramaniam advised Altantuya against lodging a police report, but Altantuya said she would comply if Abdul Razak gave her US$500,000.

Fourth Prosecution Witness Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir Testifies
26 June 2007
Shah Alam
Altantuya Shaariibuu's friend, 30-year-old Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir, who accompanied her to Malaysia last year, was the fourth witness from the prosecution side of the murder trial involving the Mongolian model Altantuya and political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda.
She testified in High Court today that taxi driver, Ong Ah Hoon, gave a certain amount of money to police officer Inspector Mohd Faizol Azuhan Che Omar to locate Altantuya. He was said to have paid him at a police station on 23 or 24 October 2006, about five days after Altantuya was reported missing.
Uuriintuya had identified the police officer as the one seen outside Abdul Razak Baginda’s house on 20 October 2006. She also told the court that they made a police report because the three of them, including Altantuya's cousin, Namiraa Gerelmaa, were indirectly given death threats from Abdul Razak.
The private investigator, P. Balasubramaniam, who was hired by Abdul Razak, had previously stated that Abdul Razak had never told him of his intention to kill anyone.
She explained to Deputy Public Prosecutor Manoj Kurup that when Altantuya did not return from Abdul Razak's house that night, Uuriintuya contacted Altantuya's cousin, Burmaa Oyunchimeg, who was in Hong Kong at that time. Burmaa reached Malaysia two or three days later and gave an undisclosed amount money to that taxi driver.
On that night, Altantuya had wanted to return to Abdul Razak's house again to meet him alone. Uuriintuya told the court that Altantuya looked like she was replying to an SMS while she went out to the same taxi that drove them earlier. Uuriintuya also described Altantuya as being dressed with a black Espirit jacket, a pair of dark blue Levi's jeans, Gucci sandals, and a black Fendi bag. Altantuya was also wearing a watch, a pair of earrings with "black stones" and a gold ring.
When Namiraa was cross-examined by Wong Kian Kheong, counsel for Abdul Razak, she admitted to having Suras' mobile phone number and that he had visited her a few times and stayed in her room between half an hour to five hours each. She denied having any close relationship with him. Suras was reportedly to have slept on one of their beds from 5am to 10am, frightening the three women.
Uuriintuya denied demanding any money or air tickets to Mongolia from Abdul Razak and that she and Namiraa had came to Malaysia to find English courses here.
Uuriintuya returned to Mongolia with Namiraa on 26 October 2006.

Day Five of the Altantuya Murder Trial
24 June 2007
Shah Alam
On the fifth day of the murder trial of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu, her father Dr. Shaariibuu Setev was asked to identify and name a photo of his daughter. He was nearly to tears with the photo was shown to him.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Manoj that asked him if him if he could name her, he said that in his country, children who had passed away are not referred to by their names. However, he said, "but if you want me to, I can tell you her name... Altantuya". Shaariibuu then cried.
After a short while, Shaariibuu said Altantuya had first met Abdul Razak in Hong Kong in 2004.
He had only known about his daughter's demise from the Mongolian foreign affairs ministry sometime in November. He flew into Kuala Lumpur on 9 November 2006. The deputy chief of the serious crimes division in KL had met up with him to take him to take his blood sample for DNA matching.
The prosecution's third witness of the case was Namiraa Gerelmaa, aged 23, who is the victim's second cousin. She was the last person to have heard from Altantuya.
Namiraa and Altantuya's friend Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir had followed Altantuya to Abdul Razak's house by taxi because Altantuya said she wanted to go find him. Upon reaching the house, private investigator P. Balasubramaniam told them that the political analyst was not at home.
The trio then left for their hotel, but when they reached the hotel, Altantuya said she wanted to go to the house again to "wish him Happy Deepavali". She left in a taxi alone at 9pm, leaving Namiraa and Uuriintuya at the hotel.
Later, Altantuya called their hotel room, and Namiraa answered. She told her that she was outside of Abdul Razak's house, and then the line was cut off suddenly. Namiraa tried in vain to call her back.
Altantuya had left them a list of numbers to call in case of emergency. Namiraa reached Balasubramaniam, but he said he did not know where Altantuya was. Namiraa also tried calling Balasubramaniam’s assistant, Suras Kumar, but failed to reach him.
Around midnight, the women at the hotel was advised by the hotel manager to call Mr Ang, the private investigator hired by Altantuya.
Namiraa lodged a report at the Jalan Bandar police station the next day. She disputed some of the details in court today.
The report said that she arrived in Malaysia on 6 October 2006, but she said that she arrived on 8 October. She is Altantuya's cousin when the report stated that she was her friend.
Namiraa denied ever saying that Altantuya had received a call from an Indian man who told her that her husband had asked her to go to his Damansara Heights residence. She also denied using words that indicate that Altantuya was married to Abdul Razak.

23 June 2007
Nibong Tebal
37-year-old businesswoman Lee Kooi Im was believed to have strangled to death her 11-year-old son, Loo Yoke Jie, at home and killed herself by running into the path of a bus along the North-South Expressway.
Kooi Im had parked her car under a flyover at KM205.6 of the expressway about an hour after Yoke Jie died. She had left a note saying "I won't disturb you any more. May you live in peace". The bus driver had tried to swerve to avoid her but failed. She died instantly yesterday at 12:30pm.
The note also contained a telephone number which belonged to her husband, Loo Chye Cheang, aged 42.
Loo owns a workshop in Nibong Tebal and rushed to Taiping Hospital when Kooi Im's sister called him about the accident.
However, the post-mortem from Parit Buntar Hospital on their eldest son said that he could have died from suffocation in their Taman Selesa home at 8:30am. Police recovered a pillow from the scene.
The couple has another 18-month-old son, who was taken care by a babysitter at that time.
Police initially classified the case as murder.

Balasubramaniam and Shaariibuu Setev Testify in Altantuya Trial
22 June 2007
Shah Alam
The fourth day of the Altantuya murder trial continues with P. Balasubramaniam saying that accused Abdul Razak Baginda had never asked him to murder the Mongolian woman known as Altantuya Shaariibuu. He also said there was no need for Abdul Razak to lodge a police report against the deceased victim for being outside his office on 9 October 2006.
The private investigator testified that his assistant, K. Suras Kumar, was dismissed for being "too close" to one of the three Mongolian women whom he was task to monitor. Abdul Razak had complained to him that the Suras was getting too close.
Abdul Razak’s counsel Wong Kian Kheong asked Balasubramaniam the kind of relationship his assistant was having with one of the women and that he had rented a room at Hotel Malaya to spend the night with one of them.
The prosecution's second witness, Altantuya's father, 57-year-old Shaariibuu Setev told the court that his daughter had come to Malaysia twice last year to see a man named "Baginda". Altantuya had visited Malaysia two years ago as well.
The director of the National University of Mongolia’s information and education centre then testified that her daughter had said that she had someone in Malaysia. She did not elaborate further on their relationship.
Shaariibuu then explained that he and his wife Altantsetseg, aged 52, live in an apartment in the Mongolian capital of Ulanbator. Altantuya was not married but had two children and they have a younger daughter named Altanzul who just gave birth and lives with them.
Shaariibuu's testimony was interpreted from Mongolian into English by Mongolian interpreter Enkhjargal Tsetsgee. Enkhjargal was also the spokesperson for the man.

Two More Girls Raped in Johor Baru
21 June 2007
Johor Baru
Two girls, aged 15 and 16 years old, have been raped in separate incidents in Johor Baru yesterday, just six hours apart.
The 16-year-old girl was abducted by four men on motorcycles in Taman Tasik Dahlia, Pasir Gudang at 1am. She had just quarrelled with her boyfriend and went to a park there to calm herself. They took her to a deserted area in Tanjung Langsat where they took turns to rape her. She was brought back to the park.
The girl then took a taxi home and made a police report the next morning. The men were in their 20s and 30s.
In the second incident in Senai around 6:30am, the 15-year-old Form Three student was with her 13-year-old brother along Jalan Ledang in Taman Teknologi Skudai waiting for their school bus when a man who claimed to be a policeman asked for their identity cards.
He made them get their cards from home by travelling in his car when they said they had left them there. When they reached their Tampoi home, the man told her brother to go inside the house to get the cards, but he sped off with the girl.
The man drove to Technology Park in Senai. He then held a knife to her neck, ripped off her school uniform and raped her. She was also slapped, punched and bitten. He then gave her his jeans and t-shirt before taking off.
The victim was sent home by two women who found her on the main road.
A police report was made at the Tampoi police station later and the girl described the man as having curly hair and tanned skin.

Balasubramaniam Testifies Further in Altantuya Murder Trial
20 June 2007
Shah Alam
The private investigator, P. Balasubramaniam, who was hired by Abdul Razak Baginda, said he saw Mongolian beauty Altantuya Shaariibuu drop off from a taxi at 7:50pm at Abdul Razak's house. She then walked to the red Proton Wira driven by Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri on 19 October 2006.
Altantuya had told Balasubramaniam about her background until the policeman drove there. Azilah Hadri then asked if he was "Bala" and if the woman with him "was the woman". The policeman then made a few phone calls and returned to Balasubramaniam and told him that he would take Altantuya with him.
After she had sat in the back seat of the car, a female passenger who was at the front passenger seat changed places with a male passenger at the back. The policeman paid the taxi driver RM50 and drove the Wira off.
Balasubramaniam then met Abdul Razak on 20 October 2006 afternoon to collect his payment. He asked the political analyst where Altantuya was detained, but Abdul Razak said he did not know because the policeman did not inform him. After Abdul Razak had paid him, he asked him to continue to guard his house every night until 26 October 2006.
The private investigator had also identified in court Gal Orchir Uuriintuya and Namiraa Gerelmaa as the two Mongolian women with Altantuya on 16 October 2006 outside of Abdul Razak's house. Gal Orchir is believed to be Altantuya's cousin and Namiraa was her friend.
Balasubramaniam had went to Abdul Razak's house on 21 October 2006 when he was called and saw the two women and Altantuya's private investigator known as Ang. They were causing a commotion there, claiming that Altantuya was held in Abdul Razak's house. Shortly thereafter, a police officer reached the house in response to a missing person's report made by Ang.
Earlier on 17 October 2006, Altantuya was at the Brickfields police station, threatening to make a police report against Abdul Razak if she did not get US$500,000 and three air tickets to Mongolia. Ang advised her against this and said he would help to make the request to Abdul Razak via Balasubramaniam.
Altantuya was outside Abdul Razak's house earlier that evening. Balasubramaniam quoted her saying "Razak bastard, you come out! I want to speak to you", but Abdul Razak refused to appear.
After that incident, Balasubramaniam said he met with Abdul Razak and his lawyer Dhiren Rene Norendra at the Starbucks cafe in Pusat Bandar Damansara and asked for two more men to be stationed at Hotel Malaya where Altantuya and her two Mongolian companions stayed. Balasubramaniam was on stand by at Abdul Razak's residence while his assistant, K. Suras Kumar, was guarding Abdul Razak's office.
Also in court today, the prosecution showed a number of SMS and phone call records that Balasubramaniam had made or received between 17 and 21 October 2006. One of the SMS received from Abdul Razak on 20 October 2006 said "A lies too much. The taxi man is another victim of A". Balasubramaniam told the Deputy Public Prosecutor that "A" had meant Altantuya.

Young Couple Brutally Murdered at Home
19 June 2007
Seremban
Syed Herie Azimi Syed Kassim, aged 24, and his wife Aniza Ayob, aged 23, were found murdered in their Taman Desa Anggerik rented home in Senawang yesterday. The unemployed man and seven-month pregnant wife had six stab wounds on his chest and a stab wound on her neck and body bruises.
The wife was working at the National Registration Department and they had married just a year ago.
One of Syed Herie's friends, Mohd Shafiq Ahmad Zaki, was chatting at his Lavender Heights home on Saturday until 4am. Syed Herie had told him that he would be sending his wife to Kuala Pilah for the weekend where his in-laws were. Apparently, Syed Herie was heard having an argument over the phone before he left Mohd Shafiq's home.
Mohd Shafiq tried to call him at 9am on Saturday but the line was cut. When he decided to visit him on Sunday afternoon, he and Syed Herie's neighbour, Mohd Fazli Kamarul, found the bodies there.
The deceased man's black Proton Satria was missing.
Police believe the couple had been dead for three days and has ruled out robbery as the wife's gold accessories were intact and that there was no indication of forced entry. The case has been classified as murder.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Opening Statements at Altantuya Trial
19 June 2007
Shah Alam
The High Court trial for the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu started yesterday with the prosecution putting Abdul Razak Baginda and C/Insp Azilah Hadri as the masterminds and the inspector and his subordinate Kpl Sirul Azhar Umar carrying out the deed.
DPP Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah said his team would produce evidence to prove that Abdul Razak had known the Altantuya since 2004, and frequently met her and gave her money. When their relationship ended in August 2005, Abdul Razak continued to give her money until early 2006. Altantuya then hired a private investigator to track down Abdul Razak and came to Malaysia several times to demand money from him.
When Altantuya arrived in Kuala Lumpur in 8 October 2006, she tried to meet Abdul Razak but was denied. She sent several threatening notes to him and Abdul Razak hired a private investigator to keep her away.
Abdul Razak then met C/Insp Azilah at his office at the Bangunan Lembaga Getah Asli on 18 October 2006 to confide in him. Together, they were alleged to have planned Altantuya’s murder. Tun Abdul Majid said a note found at C/Insp Azilah's office with Altantuya's name, address, phone number and the name of Abdul Razak's private investigator would serve as evidence that the officers had gone to Hotel Malaya where she was staying.
Altantuya was believed to have gone to Abdul Razak's house on 19 October 2006 and was held up by the private investigator, as instructed by Abdul Razak. The officers then took her away and were the last ones seen with the deceased.
The DPP then put it that Altantuya might have died from "blast-related injuries", which is in contrast to the widely believed cause of being shot dead.
To support their case, the prosecution will make use of a confession made by Kpl Sirul Azhar to his superior, and also on some items belonging to the deceased found in his house. A pair of bloodstainded slippers was also found in his car, which matched the deceased's blood DNA.

Altantuya Court Judge Remains
18 June 2007
Shah Alam
Lawyer Karpal Singh's appeal to the High Court for the withdrawal of the judge of the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial has been rejected. He had filed the appeal on last Friday for the family of Altantuya after he had received notification of the judge Justice Mohd Zaki Md Yasin, whose niece was the late wife of lawyer Hazman Ahmad, representing one of the accused, C/Insp Azilah Hadri.
Justice Mohd Zaki expressed in his written judgement that it was inappropriate for Karpal Singh to appeal against the lawyer now because the matter did not dispose of the final rights of his clients, namely the father of the victim Dr Shaariibuu Setev and the Mongolian government.

14 People Arrested for Recent Robbery and Rape Cases
16 June 2007
Johor Baru
Police have arrested 14 people who are believed to have been involved in the recent robbery and gang rape cases in Johor. They have been linked to at least two rapes and a robbery in Batu Pahat.
Raids were carried out in Kulai, a hotel room in Skudai, an apartment in Stulang Baru and in Taman Gunung Pulai during a 10 hour operation that started at 1:30am yesterday.
This followed the initial arrest of three men in a car in Kulai. The silver metallic Honda Accord was found there at a restaurant at 1:30am, which was believed to have been used in a rape and robbery case in Pantai Lido on 22 May 2007.
When a police team raided the hotel in Taman Sri Puteri, Skudai, three of the men attempted to escape by climbing through the ceiling and across the rooftop. They did not managed to escape.
A 40-year-old suspect who was arrested in Taman Desa, Kulai, had a Toyota Altis which is believed to have been used in the rape case of the 19-year-old earlier this Monday.
A special task force was set up from detectives from the state and district police headquarters. Two more suspects are still at large.
Among the 14 arrested was a 14-year-old girl who was tested positive for drugs, among six others. Six of them have had cases of carjacking, robbery, drug abuse and rape and had been held under the Emergency Ordinance.
All suspects have been held until 22 June 2007.

Sagol Gang Member Possible Gang-Rape Suspect
15 June 2007
Johor Baru
Police suspect that one of the suspects in the robbery and rape case on Monday on a 19-year-old woman and her 22-year-old boyfriend in Johor Baru is a member of the Sagol gang. The gang was known to have been responsible for a number of such similar cases that happened in the state.
27-year-old Shahabdeen Haq SK Mohammed Ariff was called in by the police in 2003 for a gang-rape case but released later as there was insufficient evidence to hold him.
Police is also investigating allegations by the couple that a patrol team had not responded to the woman's brother's plea to help search for the couple that night around Gelang Patah.
The man's leg was slashed with a parang by four men in a Toyota Altis and the woman was rape by three of them in an abandoned hut in Taman Tampoi Indah.

Couple Robbed, Woman Gang Raped
13 June 2007
Johor Baru
A couple from Pontian were driving in their Proton Iswara along a road in Gelang Patah towards Johor Baru when four men in a Toyota Altis rammed their car from behind. The incident occurred on Monday at 10:30pm.
The 22-year-old man continued to drive on as they were afraid of stopping, while the 19-year-old woman tried to call her brother using her mobile phone. However, their vehicle stopped moving near Nusajaya.
The men approached the couple and one of them slashed the man on his right leg with a parang. He was also punched and kicked for trying to escape. They then robbed the two of their wallets, mobile phones and some jewellery.
The couple were then taken to a hut in Taman Tampoi Indah where the three of the robbers took turns to rape the woman. The man was forced to watch the act. They were released at 1:30am and were able to go to Sultanah Aminah Hospital with the help of some passers-by.
A police report was lodged at the Tampoi police station.
