Triad Leader Sentenced to Jail for Kidnapping

Khoo Chee Peng, allegedly a triad leader, has been sentenced in court together with six others to six years' jail for kidnapping. Also known as "Sea Dragon King", Khoo and Ang Choon Jit, aged 28, Tan Kok Soon, aged 25, Foo Jong Cherm, aged 22, Teh Leng Han, aged 27, Lee Ah Kau, aged 22, and Lim Jain Yeu, aged 31, pleaded guilty to the charge of kidnapping with intent to wrongfully confine businesswoman Chan Leong Chan, aged 47.

The group allegedly kidnapped Chan from an office at 212 Lounge, No 9, Jalan Pasar, Goldcourse Shopping Mall, Klang, at 4am on 29 November 2003, and confined her in a store in Bukit Raja, Klang. Chan was held there for five days with the group and had suffered trauma. Khoo had also ordered the group to wrap her in a carpet and beat her up.

Chan was released on 3 December that year at 3:30pm at a petrol station along Jalan Tun Sambanthan.
